| Overview |
| The patron saint of the village is, no surprise
(!), Santa Lucija. A feast is celebrated in the weekend
nearest to its litugical celebration, namely the 13th
December. This day is also a national holiday
in Malta, and thus activities are also extended to the
liturgical day. |
| The church is dedicated to Santa
Lucija and to Our Lady of the Snows (Madonna
tas-Silg).
These two feasts have been
celebrated from time immemorial up to the present time.
With these two feasts, in the early fifties a secondary
feast was introduced, that of Our Lady of Fatima. |
| In 1921 a statue of Saint Lucy was commissioned
at Wistin Camilleri of Victoria and the feast to the
Sicilian saint started to be celebrated with greater
pomp. It was only in 1990 that the Gozo ecclesiastical
authorities gave permission enabling external festivities
to be celebrated. |

| SANTA
LUCIJA |
| As indicated above, the major feast in Santa
Lucija is that dedicated to the patron feast. Two long
weeks of activities are held around the 13th
of December and focused on religious and social activities. |

may be found in the Events section. |

| OUR
LADY OF FATIMA |
| The feast of Our Lady of Fatima is held
on the second week of October, and is the village's secondary
feast. |
| Full details of the events (when available)
may be found
in the Events section. |

| OUR
LADY OF THE SNOWS (MADONNA TAS-SILG) |
| The titular painting of the church is dedicated
to Our Lady of the Snows and Santa Lucija , and it is
calculated that this painting dates back to around 1675.
Artist is unknown. |
